ApiaryOS is in Romanian, so the screen labels are quoted here exactly as they appear in the app, like this.

First use

1. Open ApiaryOS. A short notice, Înainte de început, explains how your data is handled. Read it and tap Am înțeles. Continuă. The full notice is always in the ⋮ menu under Confidențialitate și date.
2. Create your apiary: enter Numele stupinei and tap Salvează. More apiaries can be added from the ⋮ menu with Stupină nouă.
3. Add your hives with Adaugă stup. The hive number is enough to begin; colony and queen details can come later.
4. Start a round with Pornește runda, or record an inspection by hand from the hive’s Inspecție tab, filling in only what you checked.

No account is needed. Everything is stored only on this phone.

Voice rounds

1. Tap Pornește runda. The first time, Android asks for permission to use the microphone.
2. Say the hive number first — „Stupul 1” — then describe what you see. Moving on, just say „Stupul 2”; the active hive changes without touching the phone.
3. On entering a hive, the phone briefly reminds you of anything that currently needs attention there.
4. Say „Stop” to pause and „Start” to resume. Nothing is saved during the pause. The buttons Oprește microfonul and Pornește microfonul do the same.
5. Tap Încheie runda when you finish. Rezumatul rundei shows what was recorded in each hive.
6. Phrases the app did not understand wait in De lămurit. Correct the text, or choose Acceptă, Păstrează doar ca notă or Elimină. ApiaryOS never guesses.

Without mobile signal

Speech is recognised by your phone’s own service (usually Google). By default it may use the network, so audio can be processed on the provider’s servers. To work without signal, install the Romanian offline speech pack in your phone’s Google voice settings. You can then turn off Permite recunoaștere prin rețea in Setări voce, at the bottom of the round screen. If there is no signal and no offline pack, the round pauses and what was already said stays saved.

Tips

• Short, natural phrases work best: „familie puternică rezerve bune”.
• A follow-up such as „Mai verific peste trei zile.” becomes a dated task.
• ApiaryOS keeps the transcripts, never the audio.

Backup and restore

There is no automatic cloud backup, and Android’s own backup is off for ApiaryOS. If the phone is lost or broken, data without a saved copy is gone. Save a copy regularly and keep it off the phone.

Save a copy

1. Open the ⋮ menu at the top right of the apiary screen.
2. Tap Salvează copie de siguranță and choose where to save the file.
3. The app checks the copy and confirms it with the number of hives and inspections.

The copy contains all records, including transcripts. If you save it in a synced folder (for example Google Drive), that service’s rules apply to the file.

Restore

1. End any round first.
2. In the ⋮ menu, tap Restaurează din copie and pick the file.
3. Confirm with Am înțeles, înlocuiește datele. The copy replaces the current data (it does not merge); the current data is kept on the phone first so it can be recovered.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, permanently deletes the data on the phone. Your saved copies stay wherever you put them.

Report a problem

Please send an email with:

• your phone model and Android version;
• what you said or tapped, and what you expected;
• what happened instead;
• a screenshot, if you can.

Please don’t send a backup file unless we ask: it contains all your records.
